Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th president of the United States—becoming the first African American to serve in that office—on January 20, 2009.he son of a white American mother and a black Kenyan father, Obama grew up in Hawaii. Leaving the state to attend college, he earned degrees from Columbia University and Harvard Law School. Obama worked as a community organizer in Chicago, where he met and married Michelle LaVaughn Robinson in 1992. Their two daughters, Malia Ann and Natasha (Sasha), were born in 1998 and 2001, respectively.
Obama was elected to the Illinois state senate in 1996 and served there for eight years.In 2004, he was elected by a record majority to the US Senate from Illinois and, in February 2007, announced his candidacy for president. After winning a closely fought contest against New York Senator and former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton for the Democratic nomination, Obama handily defeated Senator John McCain of Arizona, the Republican nominee for president, in the general election.

Besides that he has created a more sophisticated and better approach to handle international nuclear threat. Also, he designed the first strategy which helped to defeat al Qaeda and removed most troops in response to Afghanistan and Pakistan calls thereby rebuilding Afghanistan.Furthermore President Barack Obama made more trips to other countries and met more global leaders during his first six months after he was sworn in than any other United States of American president. Through this, he has restored Americans reputation globally and established peace with other nations.

Like any other President, Obama’s reign has had some shortcomings in various sectors. For example, Obama care which was supposed to be effective and cost friendly has lead a higher federal expenses.
